FOX: ... staff coming together.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – John Fox doesn’t have his full coaching staff in place yet, but don’t expect the process to take long.

Fox said that his new staff will “most definitely” include some coaches from the Broncos’ 2010 staff and will also incorporate some of Fox’s assistants from Carolina, among others.

“I think that’s going to come to fruition,” Fox said. “It won’t be everybody, but there will be some members that were on my last staff.”

Fox will head to Mobile, Ala. for practices in advance of the Senior Bowl in just over a week and hopes to have his staff in place by then so it can begin working as a group.

“That might be the first place where we form up and meet. I think it’s going to be important that we start building relationships with our scouting department and that’s a pretty good place to do it.

“Mr. (Pat) Bowlen’s been kind enough (to send the staff tom Mobile),” Fox said. “it’s an expense, but one of the things that impresses me is that he’s going to do whatever it takes and that might be the first time we actually form up.

“There’s some interview processes there for the upcoming draft class, there’s some bonding and getting to know the coaches, because this is the first time the staff will formulate. The camaraderie aspect of football is real critical.”

Fox’s long-time right-hand man, Jim Skipper, could be on the way to Denver. The veteran running backs coach told The Charlotte Observer said he didn’t know what his exact role would be, but that “It looks like I’m going to get (to Denver) in some capacity.” The story also indicated that five members of Fox’s final staff in Carolina could be headed for the Broncos.

The same report from the Observer indicated that Denver defensive line coach Wayne Nunnely could be heading to the Panthers to work under new head coach Ron Rivera. Nunnely and Rivera worked together on the Chargers’ staff in 2007 and 2008.

Denver’s defensive backfield coach the last two years, Ed Donatell, will not be returning. The San Francisco Chronicle reported that Donatell had taken the same position on Jim Harbaugh’s staff with the San Francisco 49ers.

Fox has spoken with offensive coordinator Mike McCoy, but it’s no slam dunk he remains with the Broncos. McCoy reportedly interviewed with the Cleveland Browns on Friday and has been speculated to be a candidate with the Kansas City Chiefs.

“He has other options just like we have other options,” Fox said. “Mike is a guy that spent seven years with me prior to even coming to the Broncos, so I might even know him better than the people here in the Broncos organization. I definitely hold him in high regard and he is definitely in consideration.”

Fox added that he had already spoken with “almost everybody” on Josh McDaniels’s staff from last year.
